What is Detox?

Detox is an abbreviation of the word “detoxification”, which means cleansing of body. This can be done in several ways. I was on my first starvation diet, 10 years ago. A week of full of herbal tea and vegetable juice intakes and nothing else. I did this for a few days until I found out that I actually feeling much better and super fresh.

The body has an innate and fantastic ability to heal if we allow it. It is important to distinguish between a health issue and a disease issue. The health issue appears most often for a healthier lifestyle change when the body has been strong enough to deliver the toxins. It can last from a few days to several weeks. In this mode, it is important to support the body with rest, eat and drink alkaline and assume a positive liveliness.

Grapefruit has a natural ability to increase metabolism and it helps greatly in flushing off excess toxic elements for your body. In this recipe you would be instructed to make detox water in very easy way. Use this water on daily basis for example in the middle of the day or 2-3 hours after lunch. You can even add extra taste by adding black pepper in a very thin crush form or by adding a pinch of salt. It would taste far better with ice cubes.

Start your day with a glass of cooled, boiled water with the juice of half a lemon which would stimulate your metabolism

Never drink the water during or after food – water dilutes the gastric juice (consisting of; protein-degrading enzymes and hydrochloric acid) and affects overall digestion negatively.

Chew your food properly – one harried lifestyle where you do not chew your food properly or eating in parts reduces enzyme production and leads to poor absorption of nutrients important tool
